USPTO Grants OnData a Patent for Its Unique Data Security Technology

OnData is proud to announce that our patent application on data encryption and access management technology has been approved by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)! As data repositories and security products only provide siloed security and privacy controls, the sensitive data is not protected consistently as it moves across systems or is accessed by users and applications at various locations. Data breach follows when network security controls or account credentials are compromised. The data security gaps are manifested by the growing number of data breach incidents occurring on a daily basis.

Leveraging our patented technology, the OnData solution implements the zero-trust security model and protects the sensitive data itself. By default, the sensitive data stays encrypted at all times, no matter where it is stored or copied to. Only for authorized users on authorized devices the sensitive data will be decrypted seamlessly to enable data access. Otherwise, the sensitive data stays encrypted and inaccessible to anyone, including hackers. With our patented technology, data security is not tied to any specific data repositories or security controls therein. Instead, you can use your existing Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems to manage data access. The OnData solution converts the physical data security model that ties to specific data repositories into a logical data security model, so that you can consistently control access to your sensitive data no matter where it is physically stored. Detailed audit logs are available to track who has accessed your sensitive data where and when.

The OnData solution supports both structured data in databases / data stores and unstructured data in documents and files. Please feel free to reach out if you would like to have an overview and demo of the OnData solution.
